Addictiveness and toxicity

For nicotine containing products: Nicotine is a highly addictive substance and can lead to nicotine addiction.

Contraindications and speciﬁc risk groups

E-cigarette aerosol presents risks to your health. Local laws and regulations govern the minimum age for purchase and use of this product. This product should not be used by:

Minors (please consult local legislation of your jurisdiction for applicable legal age). Nicotine exposure during adolescence can harm the developing brain, can impact learning, memory, and attention. Using nicotine in adolescence can also increase risk of future addiction. Children and adolescents should not use RELX under any circumstances.
Those who are pregnant or nursing. Nicotine can cause birth defects or reproductive harm.
Anyone with pre-existing health conditions. Nicotine can increase heart rate and blood pressure and may exacerbate health risks for individuals with heart issues including heart disease, hypertension and/or high blood pressure. Nicotine may increase the risk of stroke and/or aggravate the disease process for individuals with diabetes, and other chronic diseases. Do not use if you have an unstable heart condition, severe hypertension, diabetes, a disorder of the lungs, cancer or heart and vascular diseases.
Those who have allergies. RELX e-liquids are made from propylene glycol, plant-based ingredients derived from the tobacco plant, fruits, spices and other plant-based substances. People with particular allergies may experience an allergic reaction or discomfort after use.
Those with respiratory illnesses. The vaporized aerosol created by this product has the potential to cause or exacerbate respiratory or other diseases, which in some cases are irreversible. Consult your doctor prior to use of this product.
Non-smokers. This product is not intended for use by individuals who have never smoked or used nicotine products, or who have already stopped all use of tobacco or nicotine products.

Do not use this product if you have a history of esophagitis, hiatal hernia, or gastroesophogeal reflux disease (GERD).

The aerosol created by this product has the potential to expose users and bystanders to harmful substances, including heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, and ultrafine particles that can be inhaled deeply into the lungs.

Possible adverse effects

Stomach pain

If you experience any of the above side effects or any possible side effects not listed in this manual, immediately discontinue using the product. If the side effect(s) continue after you stop use, consult your doctor or healthcare professional.

First-aid treatment

This product contains a nicotine solution. Contact with the skin or eyes may cause irritation. Wash any areas of skin coming into contact with the e-liquid thoroughly with water. For eye contact, flush with water and seek medical attention. If swallowed, rinse the mouth and seek medical attention. When seeking medical advice, have the product containers or label available.

General Use and Maintenance

Storage
Please store the product in a cool, dry, dark place and at room temperature 21-25°C/70-77°F. It is recommended that a pod is used within 15 days of opening for optimum quality. E-liquid quality and e-liquid pod use is subject to environmental conditions, including air pressure and temperature. For product shelf life, please refer to relxnow.com/pages/faq

Environmental Impact

The e-liquid is composed of several ingredients which are sensitive to changes in temperature, pressure, and other environmental conditions. They should be stored and handled with care to prevent any leaks or changes in quality. The pod should be used within the range of 15-30°C/59-86°F for optimum quality. If the pod has been subjected to extreme heat or cold, it is recommended that the pod be brought to room temperature before use.

Condensation

You may occasionally notice condensation appearing on the outside of the pod while using the product depending on temperature and humidity conditions. This is not a leak and can be wiped away. Although not a cause for alarm, a small crackling sound may be heard now and then when inhaling. Simply shaking the pod lightly can get rid of this issue.

Air Transportation

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has banned the use of this product on aircraft, and has banned the transportation of vaping devices in checked luggage. When traveling, you should carry this product in your hand luggage. It should be stored to effectively prevent accidental activation, and remain separated from any flammable items.

During travel, e-liquid pods should be stored in a sealed package and away from other things, as the low pressure inside the aircraft may make it easier for the e-liquid to leak. If such a leak occurs, clean the pod with a cotton swab and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol, and let dry before use. If you notice a persistent leak of e-liquid from the pod, please contact our Customer Service immediately.

Do Not Open or Disassemble

This product does not require disassembly. Please note that disassembly of this product voids the device and product warranty, please refer to relxnow.com/pages/ warranty

Do Not Combine with Other Products

RELX devices and RELX pods are intended to be used together. Do not use RELX products with devices, pods, or e-liquids produced by other manufacturers.

Keep Out of Reach of Children

Please keep this product out of the reach of children and pets. Nicotine is toxic. If any part of the device or any amount of e-liquid is ingested, drink water to dilute the e-liquid and seek medical attention.

Avoid Eye and Skin Contact

Physical contact with or direct ingestion of nicotine-carrying liquids can cause discomfort or irritation. If any e-liquid comes into contact with your eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly for several minutes and seek medical attention immediately. If e-liquid comes into contact with skin, immediately rinse and dry the affected area.

Inhale Properly

Draw on the device mouthpiece gently, in order to avoid inhaling large quantities of vapor or e-liquid. Always use the device in an upright or mostly-upright position. Avoid using the device while lying down as any inversion of the pod could result in the e-liquid level falling below the vaporizing component, thereby damaging the e-liquid pod.

When to Replace the Pod

RELX pods are designed to visibly show the amount of e-liquid left in the pod. The pods should be replaced when empty.

Battery The built-in Lithium-Ion battery is rechargeable and is not intended to be removed or replaced by the user. DO NOT disassemble the device or remove the battery yourself; such removal voids the device and product warranty. Removing the battery may cause electrical sparks, overheating, and may result in fire, explosion, or release of harmful substances. If you suspect the battery to be damaged, please contact our Customer Service immediately. Avoid Contact with High Temperatures, Do Not Incinerate Do not place the device in proximity to direct sources of heat, direct exposure to sunlight, or in environments of high temperatures (above 60ºC/140ºF). Contact with high temperatures will damage the battery which will cause malfunction and could result in fire, explosion, or release of harmful substances. The lithium-ion battery will burn and/or explode if heated or incinerated. Avoid Electrical Overload The device and the lithium-ion battery within the device are both designed to withstand a certain charging current (Please refer to Product Manual). Exposing the device to current exceeding this maximum may cause rapid heating of the battery and the device, and could result in device overheating and possibly catching on fire. Toxic Exposure Lithium-ion batteries contain caustic and toxic chemical compounds. If the battery is physically damaged or pierced, avoid contact of skin and eyes, and dispose of immediately. If eye or skin exposure to the matter contained within the battery has occurred, rinse the affected area thoroughly with water immediately, and seek medical attention. Avoid Exposure to Liquids This product is not waterproof, and should not be made wet or exposed to liquids. Please do not soak or expose the device to significant amounts of any liquids, including water, sea water, and beverages. Battery Maintenance During Long-term Storage If you are not planning on using the device for a long time, it is recommended that you recharge the battery at least once every six months. If the battery is not recharged within six months, it may start losing electrical capacity, degrading battery performance. Do Not Use Damaged Devices If you notice any abnormality in the appearance or function of your device, especially physical damage, deformation, battery bloating, or leakage, please stop immediately and contact our Customer Service.

This manual shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Hong Kong laws. Any dispute arising from this manual shall be resolved through arbitration. The arbitration shall be conducted in Hong Kong, administered by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (“HKIAC”) in accordance with the HKIAC Administered Arbitration Rules in effect at the time of the arbitration. The arbitration proceedings shall be conducted in English. Any award of the arbitration tribunal, whether it is for interim, provisional or final relief, shall be binding upon the disputing parties.
